16th ISHSR International Meeting
INTERNATIONAL SOCIETY FOR HEPATIC SINUSOID RESEARCH
OVERVIEW
The main aim of the meeting is to provide basis for translating
the most recent
acquisitions on the biology of the cells of the hepatic sinusoid
into clinical
application in different acute and chronic liver disease
including primary and
secondary liver cancer.
Florence, Italy, September
22‐24, 2011
MAIN TOPICS
- ‐ Sinusoidal cells and the regulation of inflammation in
chronic liver
diseases: Innate and acquired immunity (NK, NKT, dendritic
cells), Toll
like receptor biology and ligands (PAMPs, DAMPs).
- ‐ Nuclear Receptors and non‐parenchymal liver cells.
- ‐ Sinusoidal cells in Alcoholic and Non Alcoholic
Steatohepatitis,
adipokine biology, lipotoxicity.
- ‐ Sinusoidal cells and portal hypertension,
Hypoxia‐dependent and independent angiogenesis in chronic liver disease.
- ‐ Sinusoidal cells and hepatitis viruses: the
interaction of viral proteins (HCV, HBV, HIV) with sinusoidal cells.
- ‐ Intracellular signaling in sinusoidal cells: new
acquisitions.
- ‐ The role of sinusoidal cells (liver stroma) in primary
and metastatic liver cancer.
- ‐ Nanotechnologies and liver disease.
The meeting will also include two state‐of‐the‐art lectures
and two tutorial lectures on methodological issues
